During my time studying abroad in London I was inspired by the importance placed on work life balance, and wanted to explore more ways that London could implement employee health and wellness initiatives in the workplace. Through research I found that breaks and self care throughout the day have been proven to help with mental health, physical health and have been shown to have benefits within productivity and achievement in the workplace.
Beacon, Workplace Wellness Rooms, would be located in office buildings and work spaces, and combine light, noise, and spacial therapy techniques to provide a space within the work place for complete calm and relaxation.

Workplace culture often prioritizes productivity over employee well-being, leading to burnout, stress, and declining mental and physical health. While many companies in the U.K. place more emphasis on work-life balance, many office environments in cities like London still lack dedicated spaces for employees to recharge during the day.
The bustling, noisy atmosphere of the city combined with the pressures of modern work creates an urgent need for solutions that prioritize employee health and happiness. Research has consistently shown that regular breaks and self-care throughout the workday not only improve mental and physical health but also enhance workplace productivity and overall job satisfaction. Employers who invest in their employees' well-being ultimately see higher performance and profitability.
